Meet the Student Trustees of the 2025-26 Academic Year

By Melissa Lum

The newly elected Student Trustees from Cypress College, Fullerton College, and NOCE were sworn in and seated at the most recent Board Meeting.

After a warm send-off of the previous year's Student Trustees at the end of the Spring semester, the incoming three Student Trustees—elected by their fellow peers—were sworn in and officially seated at the Board meeting held on June 10, 2025.

To serve as a Student Trustee is to represent the unique voice of each school within NOCCCD and offer insight from the student body perspective. Each of the three elected Student Trustees have a history of involvement within their respective campuses and are highly in tune with student life.

2025-26 Student Trustees

Cypress College

Zachary Colinco, a Computer Science major, has been directly involved with Cypress College's student life as a Senator of the Cypress College Associated Students soon after he joined the school. The Cypress College Foundation recently awarded him with the Judith Brugger Scholarship at their May scholarship awards ceremony.

Fullerton College

Samiy Castillo Bolivar is currently working on three different degrees from Fullerton College: Economics; Journalism; and Law, Public Policy and Society. He writes for the college's news outlet The Hornet, and is also part of the Fullerton College Associated Students.

NOCE

Kristine Nacu is NOCE's second ever Student Trustee to be seated. The third-year Student Leader is President of the campus' Christian Club and involved extensively in the community. She has gathered her experience and understanding of the NOCE student body through serving on various campus committees, organizing events, volunteering, and building connections with faculty and staff.

Congratulations to all!
