Dr. Barbara Dunsheath Elected as Board President for 2025
The new 2025 officers were selected at the end-of-the-year organizational Board meeting held on December 16, 2025.
The North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) Board of Trustees selected officers on Dec. 16, 2025, during its yearly organizational meeting. This year, the new selections are:
- Trustee Dr. Barbara Dunsheath, 2026 Board President
- Trustee Ed Lopez, J.D., 2026 Board Vice President
- Trustee Mark Lopez, 2026 Board Secretary
Dr. Dunsheath has been a community college professor for over 30 years, with a long history of involvement in student support initiatives and educational committees. She still teaches as an adjunct professor at the East Los Angeles College. She was first appointed to the District Board of Trustees in 2005 and has served as Board President before in 2011, 2016 and 2021.
She currently is part of five different statewide committees, including the California Community Colleges Women's Caucus. She was elected as President Elect by the California Community College Trustees (CCCT) Board this past Spring and just last month, she was selected to serve on a Strategic Foresight Committee with the Community College League of California, which discusses the publication From Institutions to Individuals and examining future needs in higher education.
