Classified Fellows
Under the leadership of the District Chancellor and the District Director of Diversity, Culture, and Inclusion — the objectives of the Diversity and Inclusion Classified Fellow program includes increasing inclusive and equity-minded practices, encouraging culturally responsive and affirming professional development, and promoting DEIAA throughout the District.
The Classified Fellows program strives to promote and infuse diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility (DEIAA) initiatives throughout the District, and throughout various classified professional platforms. In conjunction with the Diversity, Culture, and Inclusion Office, NOCCCD's Classified Fellows work to:
- Provide assistance in hiring and retention of classified professional members
- Assist with the Future Instructor Training (FIT) Program
- Design, present, and attend outreach and professional development training events to include the Pluralism, Inclusion, and Equity (PIE) Series.
- Assist in organizing the Inclusive Excellence Curriculum Transformation Seminar (or similar seminar), held in January
- Provide recommendations for recruitment and retention of diverse classified staff
- Assist in the design and delivery of training and seminars for faculty and staff related to DEIAA initiatives
Promote DEIAA throughout the Campus/District committee spaces
The Classified Fellows Program recruits and trains Classified employees interested in representing and supporting the District's goals of infusing diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism and accessibility (DEIAA) through a variety of means, including outreach and training.
