Anaheim, CA—In May, NOCCCD Board Member Dr. Barbara Dunsheath was sworn in by the California Community College Trustees (CCCT) Board as its newly-elected President. Dr. Dunsheath said about her appointment, “It is a great honor to be chosen by my fellow trustees to lead the CCCT board. I am passionate about community colleges. We are the most affordable avenue of higher education in the state serving over 2.1 million students. We offer high quality courses for the lowest student and taxpayer cost, and we serve as a gateway to the middle class. I am proud to represent North Orange County Community College District at the state level. My focus is to support students on their educational journey both in our district and for the state of California. Students are our guiding stars.”
Dr. Dunsheath has been a trustee with NOCCCD since 2005 and is currently serving as the NOCCCD Board of Trustees’ President. This year, Dr. Dunsheath was also awarded the Community College League of California’s “Fulfilling the Trust Award” which recognizes the enduring dedication and service of the state’s community college trustees.
