Full Accreditation for Credit Colleges!

NOCCCD is proud to announce that Cypress College and Fullerton College have both had their accreditation status reaffirmed by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).

The accreditation process takes place every seven years. The process ensures that colleges continue to meet high standards of quality and strive for continual improvement. Accreditation also determines the eligibility of students from a school to transfer to other educational institutions, and to have their degrees recognized.

As part of the accreditation process, colleges complete an in-depth Institutional Self-Evaluation Report as well as being evaluated by Peer Review. Reports from both of these, along with additional documentation, were reviewed by the ACCJC during their January 8-9, 2025 meeting.

Both colleges were found to meet all compliance requirements. In addition, Cypress College received a Commendation for exemplary performance in implementing a data strategy to ensure equity disparities are highlighted, evaluated, and discussed to improve student outcomes.

Fullerton College was commended for creating a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility, and for programs that help students clearly navigate their way toward completion of their intended degrees and certificates.

Additional information, including the full self-evaluation and peer-review reports, as well as ACCJC affirmation letter can be found on the Fullerton College and Cypress College websites.

Congratulations to both colleges and everyone involved with finishing such successful accreditation cycles!
