Please review Article 12.3.3 in the collective bargaining agreement between Adjunct Faculty United and NOCCCD for additional information. 

Under this program, NOCCCD may provide a reimbursement to Multi-District Adjunct Faculty unit members who individually purchase health insurance benefits, up to a proportionate share of the District’s most commonly subscribed family coverage plan.

Reimbursement of health insurance premiums is for the eligible Adjunct Faculty unit member and their eligible dependents. Please note that this program does not cover the cost of dental or vision premiums.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a health insurance reimbursement under this program, Adjunct Faculty unit members must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Assignments at two or more California Community College Districts that equals or exceed 40% of the cumulative equivalent of a minimum full-time teaching assignment each semester;
  • Unit Members must have individually purchased a healthcare plan (not an employer group sponsored plan).

Disqualifiers

Adjunct Faculty unit members are not eligible for a health insurance reimbursement under this program if ANY of the following apply:

  • Unit Members or their dependents whose premiums for health insurance are paid by an employer other than a community college district are not eligible to participate in the NOCCCD program;
  • Load of 40% at NOCCCD and whose assignment at another community college district is 40% or more that offers part-time faculty benefits are not eligible to participate in the NOCCCD program

Application Process

The Human Resources Benefits Office provides additional information on the application process towards the end of the semester for Adjunct Faculty unit members interested in applying.

The application process includes the following components:

  • Multi-District Health Insurance Premium Reimbursement Program Online Application
    • Credit Adjunct Faculty deadline: December 13, 2025
    • Non-Credit Adjunct Faculty deadline: December 19, 2025
  • Multi-District Adjunct Faculty Health Insurance Certification Form
    • The Unit Member must complete the Multi-District Adjunct Faculty Health Insurance Certification Form to verify their semester teaching assignment at other community college districts that the unit member holds an active assignment.
  • Proof of Health Insurance Premiums
    • The Unit Member will be required to submit proof of health insurance premium payments for the months of coverage they are requesting for their reimbursement. All proof of insurance payments MUST include:
      • Full name
      • Date of payment
      • Amount of payment
      • Institution paid
      • Description of payment
