Humanizing the Immigrant Experience: A Community Conversation with Yosimar Reyes
- -
- Anaheim Campus
- Room 105/107
Join author and activist Yosimar Reyes for this in-person community event as he presents his experience as an unapologetic undocumented immigrant, queer poet, author, advocate, and artist. Open to students and staff.
Mr. Yosimar Reyes brings a unique perspective to his presentation, as he presented himself as an unapologetic undocumented immigrant, queer poet, author, advocate, and artist. His narrative speaks to the experience of many of our students, who share many similar identities. He helps paint a positive and enriching experience in which our students, families and employee communities are experiencing. Please join him in this in-person community event, we invite all three of our campuses. In addition, given the shared cultural, personal and social identities shared by many of our employees within NOCCCD, this presentation will have elements a professional development opportunity and experience for all of our employee groups.
Snacks and drinks will be provided. FLEX Credit will be offered to NOCE students. Faculty are welcome to offer students extra credit for attending this event.
Please note:
- The first part of the session will be geared towards and focused on our students & community.
- The second part of the session will be oriented towards our employees (all employees are invited) as a professional development opportunity.
Both sessions will be available for all to join!
