Join special guest presenter, Dr. Gina Ann Garcia. Dr. Garcia is a public scholar committed to disrupting the status quo of postsecondary education. She studies organizational change in the context of Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), advocating for new HSI futures. Grounded in her own theories of change, she provides practical solutions for HSIs and other colleges and universities that enroll compositionally diverse students. She delivers public lectures that motivate people to think critically about the role and function of colleges and universities, offers professional development and workshops to help faculty, staff, and administrators assess their institutional practices for serving Latine/x and other racially and economically minoritized students, and consults directly with HSI students, educators, and leaders.
Light breakfast will be served and lunch will be provided.
