Cypress College – Dr. JoAnna Schilling, President
HUNGER INITIATIVES – Dr. Schilling shared that the Cypress College food pantry is up and running and faculty and staff are orchestrating a campus-wide initiative to ensure students understand how to access food on campus… FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC – The President announced that the Foundation Golf Classic will be held on October 1, 2018 at the Seacliff Country Club in Huntington Beach, CA… COMPLETION & TRANSFER RATES – Dr. Schilling presented Cypress College highlights from last year including completion and transfer rates.
Fullerton College – Dr. Greg Schulz, President
PRESIDENT'S GALA – Dr. Schulz shared that five honorees will be recognized at the President's Gala on October 27, 2018… DEAN OF COUNSELING & STUDENT DEVELOPMENT – The President announced that Dr. Jennifer LaBounty will serve as the new Dean of Counseling and Student Development at Fullerton College… METROLOGY PROGRAM – Dr. Schulz reported that the Machine Technology Department is offering a new Metrology Program this fall.
North Orange Continuing Education – Valentina Purtell, Provost
STUDENT SURVEY RESULTS – Ms. Purtell shared the results from two student surveys: High School Stop-Out Survey and Media Preference Survey… STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM – The Provost announced that NOCE is recruiting students for the 2018/19 Leadership Program… SCHOLARSHIPS – Ms. Purtell reported that NOCE students can now apply for 2018 rolling scholarships on the NOCE website.

DMA UPDATES – DMA President Richard Fee announced DMA's theme for the year "hope," as well as plans for future business meetings.
FALL SEMESTER – NOCE Academic Senate President Tina McClurkin commented on the start of the fall semester including NOCE Opening Day activities and the Senate retreat.
CC ACADEMIC SENATE UPDATES – Cypress College Academic Senate President Craig Goralski shared faculty responses to the winter intersession survey, and suggested that the Resource Table receive additional time for study session review with constituents prior to Board meeting discussions.
FC ACADEMIC SENATE UPDATES – Fullerton College Academic Senate President Josh Ashenmiller commented on the first Senate meeting of the year, and shared that results from the winter intersession survey were as expected.
UF UPDATES – United Faculty President Dana Clahane announced the first Executive Board meeting of the fall semester on September 12, 2018, second bargaining team meeting, District negotiations, and a vacancy for the position of Vice President.
CSEA UPDATES – CSEA 1st Vice President Dawnmarie Neate shared that the first Chapter meeting of the fall semester is September 19, 2018, commented on classified staff concerns with the proposed winter intersession, and announced that it is National Suicide Awareness Week.

CAMPUS EVENTS – Fullerton College Student Trustee Pascual Castillo commented on campus events hosted by the Fullerton College Cultural Center.
CYPRESS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Board Member Stephen Blount reported on Cypress Chamber of Commerce events.
NOCE OPENING DAY – Board Member Molly McClanahan reflected on NOCE Opening Day activities and the 7th Floor Open House at the Anaheim Campus.
OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES – Board Member Jeffrey Brown shared information on open educational resources.
NOCE OPENING DAY – Board Member Ryan Bent reflected on the NOCE Opening Day activities, Academic Senate retreat, and 7th Floor Open House at the Anaheim Campus.

OPENING DAY EVENTS – Board Member Jacqueline Rodarte thanked Board Member Ryan Bent for speaking at the Cypress College, Fullerton College, and NOCE Opening Day events on behalf of the Board.
PROPOSED 2018-19 DISTRICT BUDGET – After the public hearing, the Board adopted the 2018-2019 Proposed Budget, approved the GAN Appropriation Limit, and adopted a resolution to certify the approval of entering into agreements and any amendments with the California Department of Education. (The Resolution is available for review in the District's Business Office).
Finance & Facilities
PURCHASE ORDERS & CHECKS – The Board ratified purchase orders and checks. (The Purchase Orders and Checks are available for review in the District's Business Office).
STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM – The Board authorized the request to enter into a travel arrangement with CAPA for the Cypress College and Fullerton College 2019 Summer Study Abroad Program in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A signed copy of the travel contractor agreement will be on file in the District's Business Office.
INTERLOG CONSTRUCTION – The Board approved Change Order No. 1 and No. 2 for Bid #1718-19, Anaheim Campus 2nd Floor Counseling Offices & 5th Floor CTE Lab Tenant Improvements, with Interlog Construction.
PROMOTIONS – The Board approved the promotions of Jennifer LaBounty to Fullerton College Dean, Counseling and Student Development, effective September 12, 2018; Hugo Flores to Fullerton College Admissions and Records Coordinator, effective August 29, 2018; and Domenic Travaglia to Cypress College Equipment Operator, effective August 15, 2018.
OCCCLTF – The Board appointed Wayne Wedin as the District's Community Representative on the Orange County Community Colleges Legislative Task Force for the 2018-19 year.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS – The Board discussed any potential future agenda items.
