RETIREE RECOGNITION – Fullerton College Early Childhood Education Instructor Patricia Green-Pappas and Anaheim Campus Human Resources Specialist Beth Stokes were honored for their years of service.

Cypress College – Dr. JoAnna Schilling, President
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL – Dr. Schilling announced that Cypress College Women’s Basketball will compete against Los Angeles Trade-Technical College in the SoCal Regional Final on March 3, 2018… CAMPUS ACTIVITIES – The President reported on campus activities including: Black History Month events; Kindercaminata; and the musical Grease… GUIDED PATHWAYS – Dr. Schilling shared that the campus meta-majors group assembled for guided pathways planning on February 26, 2018.
Fullerton College – Dr. Greg Schulz, President
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS – Dr. Schulz acknowledged Fullerton College Professor Jay Seidel and Dean, Technology and Engineering, Ken Starkman for their contributions to the campus Strong Workforce Initiative planning… CAMPUS EVENTS – The President reported on campus events including: Fullerton College Night at Angel Stadium; Fullerton College Foundation Faculty/Staff Luncheon; and Major Declaration Day.
North Orange Continuing Education – Valentina Purtell, Provost
MARKETING & OUTREACH – Ms. Purtell reported on NOCE marketing and outreach activities including: class schedule distribution; High School Diploma Program postcard mail-out; social media, Internet, and mobile advertising; and FasTrack enrollment events… GUIDED PATHWAYS – The Provost shared that NOCE’s Guided Pathways Implementation Plan was finalized at a special Provost’s Cabinet meeting on February 20, 2018… ACCREDITATION PRESENTATION – Ms. Purtell presented on the ACS WASC accreditation for post-secondary noncredit programs at the State Academic Senate Accreditation Institute.

NOCE SENATE UPDATE – NOCE Academic Senate President Tina McClurkin commented on campus considerations to transition from a trimester to semester system and the District Future Instructor Training Internship and Mentorship Program.
CC SENATE UPDATE – Cypress College Academic Senate Representative Craig Goralski reported on meta-majors, guided pathways, and winter intercession.
FC SENATE UPDATE – Fullerton College Academic Senate President Josh Ashenmiller commented on winter intercession, accreditation, and guided pathways.
UNITED FACULTY UPDATE – United Faculty President Dana Clahane reported on the California Community Colleges Online Education Initiative, Supplemental Early Retirement Plan, and Putnam Mathematical Competition.
ADFAC MEETING WITH BOARD – ADFAC United President Kent Stevenson announced an upcoming meeting with Board members on March 2, 2018.

CAMPUS EVENTS – Cypress College Student Trustee Daniel Sebastian reported on campus activities including: Club Rush events; Kindercaminata; and Blood Drive. Fullerton College Student Trustee Andrew Washington commented on Black History month events and the A2MEND Conference in Los Angeles. Board President Jacqueline Rodarte shared that she attended Cypress College’s “Whose Streets?” Documentary and Forum and Fullerton College’s Retired Faculty and Staff Luncheon.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES – Board Member Stephen Blount shared that he attended the Regional Military Affairs Committee meeting at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base and Every Student Succeeds event at the Cypress Community Center.
NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO – Board Member Molly McClanahan shared information from National Public Radio on community college students transitioning into careers.
STRATEGIC CONVERSATION #19 – Board Member Barbara Dunsheath reported that the District-wide event Strategic Conversation #19 is on April 10, 2018 at Cypress College.
Finance and Facilities
GENERAL FUND – The Board adopted a resolution to accept new revenue and authorize expenditures within the General Fund at Orange County Department of Education. (The Resolution is available for review in the District’s Business Office).
RESOLUTION NO. 17/18-11 – The Board adopted Resolution No. 17/18-11 to approve the purchase of a custom-built vehicle from FlyMotionUS. (The Resolution is available for review in the District's Business Office).
VETERAN RESOURCE CENTER – The Board authorized the request to accept new funding of $56,472 for Cypress College and $68,885 for Fullerton College to provide services and support associated with the Veteran Resource Center in the 2017-18 fiscal year.
AB540 STUDENTS – The Board authorized the request to accept new funding of $232,573 to provide direct emergency aid to AB540 students in the 2017-18 fiscal year.
