Congratulations to Vice Chancellor of Finance and Facilities Fred Williams for being honored by the California Community Colleges Association of Chief Business Officials (ACBO) with the Walter Star-Robie Award. The Walter Star-Robie Award is presented each year to professionals in California community college business administration who have demonstrated outstanding career achievements and provided exemplary service as chief business officials in their respective districts and the state of California. Williams received this award at the ACBO Fall Conference in San Diego, CA from October 28-30, 2019.
Williams began his 24-year professional career at NOCCCD in 1994 when he was hired as District Director, Fiscal Affairs. Prior to that, he was an auditor for four years with Vicenti, Lloyd, and Stutzman, LLP, who primarily audits K-14. Since 2004, Fred has served NOCCCD as the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Facilities. During the absence of leadership, Williams stepped up to serve as Interim Chancellor at the District from March 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. In this role, Williams honed his skills and furthered his involvement in state-wide efforts.
We thank Williams for being an exemplary leader, mentor, and advisor—dedicated not only to fiscal responsibility, but to serving the needs of students.
