Chancellor's Written Report – Dr. Cheryl A. Marshall
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – Dr. Marshall reported that the Office of Diversity and Compliance co-hosted LatinX Heritage Month-Generation LatinX: History, Culture and Future, and sponsored the Four Skills of Cultural Diversity Competence workshop… OPEN HOUSE – The Chancellor shared that Human Resources will host an Open House for all employees on November 28, 2018… JOB FAIRS – Dr. Marshall announced that the District will participate in the CCC Registry Job Fair on January 26, 2019, and will host a job fair and Hire Me workshop on February 2, 2019… ANAHEIM CAMPUS CONSTRUCTION – The Chancellor commented on the completion of the construction projects on the 2nd, 5th, and 7th floors of the Anaheim Campus.

Cypress College – Dr. JoAnna Schilling, President
FILM SCREENING – Dr. Schilling shared that the Cypress Art Gallery will host Director Folleh Tamba for a screening of her film "Triangle of Death" on October 25, 2018… HUNGER INITIATIVES – The President announced that the District is partnering with Pathways of Hope to host trainings for staff to augment food pantry services and help identify students who need additional resources… VRC FUNDING – Dr. Schilling reported that Cypress College received a $100,000 grant from the state and a $100,000 donation from Forest Lawn for the Veterans Resource Center.
Fullerton College – Dr. Greg Schulz, President
PRESIDENT'S GALA – Dr. Schulz announced that the 2nd annual President's Gala on October 27, 2018 will include a multi-course dinner, silent and live auctions, and performances by musical theater faculty and students… UNDOCUMENTED STUDENT WEEK OF ACTION – The President shared that Fullerton College joined more than 40 community colleges and organizations across California to host events for Undocumented Student Week of Action from October 15-19, 2018… DIA DE LOS MUERTOS – Dr. Schulz highlighted the 25th anniversary of Dia de los Muertos at Fullerton College on October 25, 2018.
North Orange Continuing Education – Valentina Purtell, Provost
COMMUNITY LEADER AWARD – Ms. Purtell shared that on October 13, 2018, Congressman Lou Correa honored her with a Community Leader Award in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month… ELL NAVIGATOR – The Provost reported that an English Language Learner Workforce Navigator is now located at the Anaheim Campus Career Resource Center to provide free workshops and services on topics like immigration rights, naturalization/citizenship, small business development, self-employment, transcript evaluation, case management, support services, and transition to employment… TRAUMA-INFORMED LEARNING CONFERENCE – Ms. Purtell announced that the North Orange County Regional Consortium will host a free, two-day Trauma-Informed Learning Conference at the Business Expo Center in Anaheim on November 28-29, 2018.

FALL BUSINESS MEETING – District Management Association President Richard Fee announced that the DMA fall business meeting will be on October 26, 2018.
SENATE GOALS – Fullerton College Academic Senate President Josh Ashenmiller highlighted Senate goals for the 2018-19 academic year.
NEGOTIATIONS – Adjunct Faculty United President Kent Stevenson reported on mediation and negotiations between ADFAC United and the District.

FC EVENTS – Fullerton College Student Trustee Pascual Castillo commented on campus events including Party to the Polls and a leadership event for Associated Students.
COMMUNITY EVENTS – Board Member Stephen Blount shared that he attended the Cypress Mayor's and Fullerton Mayor's breakfast events and the Patriots Chapel Dedication Ceremony in which Forest Lawn presented Cypress College with a $100,000 donation for the Veterans Resource Center.
CONGRATULATIONS – Board Member Ryan Bent congratulated Valentina Purtell on receiving a Community Leader Award from Congressman Lou Correa.
ACTIVITIES – Board Member Barbara Dunsheath reported that she met with social work students at USC to discuss mental health awareness, and that Strategic Conversation #20 will be held on April 9, 2019.
LGBT CENTER OF OC – Board Member Jacqueline Rodarte shared that she has developed a relationship with the Executive Director of the LGBT Center of Orange County and can share contact information with the campuses.
STUDENT SUCCESS & EQUITY – The Board conducted a study session to review and discuss District-wide efforts related to onboarding, mobile apps, AB 705, and Strong Workforce in order to promote student success and equity. Click here to review the study session presentations.
Finance & Facilities
PRESIDENT'S GALA – The Board authorized the request to allow the Fullerton Foundation to host the President's Gala on the Fullerton College Campus October 27, 2018, and allow them to serve alcoholic beverages.
OUT-OF-COUNTRY TRAVEL – The Board authorized the request to pre-approve out-of-country travel for Instructors Callista Lee, Megan Debin, Carol Henke, Kristin Mihaylovich, and James Crippen.
ANAHEIM PLACE PARTNERS – The Board authorized the request to pay Anaheim Place Partners $125,000 for tenant improvements in the expansion of Suite #200 at the NOCRC Office located at 505 N. Euclid Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92801.
EX LIBRIS GROUP – The Board authorized the request to approve the contract with Ex Libris Group, for the Alma and Primo platforms, for a one-year term beginning January 2019, through December 2020.
NOCE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – The Board received as information highlights relating to the NOCE 2018-2019 Professional Development Program.
HEALTH RESOURCES & SERVICES ADMINISTRATION – The Board authorized the request to accept new revenue from the Health Resources & Services Administration in the amount of $74,400.
RETIREMENT – The Board approved the retirement of Norma Alvarado, NOCE TDI Manager, CACT, effective December 29, 2018.
2018-19 BOARD OF TRUSTEES GOALS – The Board approved the proposed, revised 2018-19 Board of Trustees Goals.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS – The Board discussed any potential future agenda items.
