Purpose
The Educational Technology Steering Team is advisory to the Vice Chancellor, Educational Services and Technology, and the District Director, Information Services. It advises the Vice Chancellor on the implementation and support of Educational Technology and advises Information Services leadership on educational technology initiatives and projects related to planning, operation, and support. The group works to improve educational technology District wide by collectively visioning, planning and implementation of educational technology directions, initiatives, projects, training and support.
Responsibilities
Team members are instrumental in providing insights on educational technology project priorities and strategies. Through mutually beneficial collaboration and sharing of information, the team influences plans for advancing the stability and use of educational technology that will have a positive impact on students throughout the district.

District-wide Training in Educational Technology
The Educational Technology Steering Team will be making recommendations regarding a coordinated set of trainings in educational technology for all entities in the District that could be utilized in part to meet the training requirement for online instructors.
Academic Year 15-16 Developments
The first year of Education Technology Steering Committee meetings were devoted to members getting to know each other and finding out where priorities lie. Many discussions centered on using APPS in education and what needs to be set up should the committee decide to assume this task. Universal Design, District Wide Training, Technology Support to instructors were some of the topics covered during the very successful first year of the ETST Team
