Under the direction of
the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, the District
Office of Human Resources oversees the District's
workforce and employee programs.
The Office of Human
Resources has responsibility for the following
functions:
Personnel
Operations:
- recruitment and
induction of personnel;
- salary placement;
-
assessment of academic employee minimum
qualifications;
- sabbatical and other
leaves of absence;
- load banking
program;
- phase-in
retirements;
- professional growth
and development increments;
- preparation of the
extended-day payroll; and
- position control
in conformity with District Personnel Budget
Procedures.
Employer-Employee
Relations:
- ensuring that
personnel policies and practices are in compliance
with federal and state nondiscrimination and equal
opportunity statutes and regulations;
- processing and
responding to complaints related to discrimination
and sexual harassment;
- negotiations;
- administrative
hearings, grievance and
discipline procedures; and
- provision of
interpretation and guidance to administrators and
others in areas of negotiated agreements, board policies and
procedures.
