Cypress and Fullerton colleges have strong academic programs with excellent rates of students transferring to 4-year institutions, and into the California State University system specifically. The district's colleges consistently rank high in this measure, when compared with other colleges in the community college system.

In addition to excellence on the path to a 4-year higher education, the district has many strengths in areas of vocational training and career preparation:

Cypress College is renowned for its certified vocational programs in Nursing, Health Sciences, and Transportation/Automotive Technology.

Fullerton is well known for its excellent programs in Offset Printing Technology, Computer Information Systems, and Administration of Justice (Police Academy).

The School of Continuing Education is proud of the tremendous diversity and richness of its offerings. Some key programs that may be of interest: the Digital Media program, the Training and Development Institute www.scetdi.com, including the district's participation in the Orange County Digital Media Center www.ocdmc.com, and the early childhood education program.
